01 Export Overview

From January to May of 2021, China’s export of canned fruits totaled 180,900 tons, with a total value of US$208 million. Compared with the same period of the previous year, the number decreased by 19% and the amount decreased by 18%.

Among them, in May 2021, China’s export volume of canned fruits was 33,700 tons, with a value of nearly 37.8 million U.S. dollars. Compared with the same period of the previous year, the volume decreased by 39% and the value decreased by 37%.

02 Export species

From January to May 2021, China’s canned orange exports amounted to 109,000 tons, accounting for 60% of the total canned fruit exports;

China exported 46,200 tons of canned peaches, accounting for 26% of total canned fruit exports; China exported 18,300 tons of canned pears, accounting for 10% of total canned fruit exports.

Among them, the United States ranked first. China exported 74,400 tons to it, accounting for 44% of total canned fruit exports, a year-on-year decrease of 21%; the export value was US$90.99 million, a year-on-year decrease of 17%.

Next is Japan. China exported 45,200 tons to it, accounting for 26% of the total canned fruit exports, a year-on-year decrease of 1%; the amount was US$53.76 million, a year-on-year decrease of 4%.

Thailand ranked third. China exported 11,700 tons to it, accounting for 5% of the total canned fruit exports, a year-on-year decrease of 33%; the amount was 11.13 million US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 35%.

Canada ranked fourth. China exported 7,079 tons to it, accounting for 4% of the total canned fruit exports, a year-on-year decrease of 10%; the amount was 8.49 million US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 9%.

04 Provinces and cities of export

From January to May in 2021, among the 19 provinces and cities that China exports canned fruits, the top eight provinces and cities in export volume are: Zhejiang, Shandong, Anhui, Hubei, Jiangsu, Fujian, Hebei and Hunan.

Among them, Zhejiang Province exported 90,600 tons, accounting for 50% of my country’s total canned fruit exports, a year-on-year decrease of 12%; the export value was US$109 million, a year-on-year decrease of 13%.

Followed by Shandong Province, the export volume was 23,200 tons, accounting for 13% of my country’s total canned fruit exports, a year-on-year decrease of 24%; the amount was US$27.54 million, a year-on-year decrease of 23%.

Anhui Province is the third largest province in my country’s canned fruit exports, with an export volume of 17,900 tons, accounting for 10% of my country’s total canned fruit exports, a year-on-year decrease of 26%; the amount was 16.6 million US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 23%.
