From May 1 to May 4 in just 4 days, 32 paper mills across the country have announced price increases, and a number of paper mills require downstream 100% advanced payment before delivery, or they will all be suspended!

After the paper mill issued a letter of price increase, the paperboard factory and the carton factory followed up and raised the price of cardboard or carton one after another. The price increament of each paper range from 100 to 300 yuan per ton. At present, the average price of high-grade corrugated paper is around 4,350 yuan per ton, which is more than 11% higher than that at the beginning of the year.

According to relevant data, the amount of waste paper imported in March 2018 was 1.42 million tons, down 54.2% year-on-year. The drastic reduction in the amount of imported waste paper has caused the paper mills to switch to national waste procurement. At the same time, some waste paper suppliers are optimistic about late-stage prices. 

Industry analysts believe that in the short term, with the arrival of paper season, coupled with the continuous tightening of foreign waste, finished paper prices tend to rise. Seeing that the paper shortage last year will evolve into a paper disaster this year, fear has spread rapidly throughout the entire paper packaging industry chain. But at the same time, there are also carton factory sources pointed out that the current market demand is insufficient, orders have appeared a certain overdraft, the market in May will continue to change, whether the price increase can continue to be unpredictable.
 

With the price increment of paper carton, the cost of canned foods will also be higher, the prices of canned foods are likely to increase accordingly.
